gardening guide to grieving -mistakes

This discussion continues on from yesterday, when I realized that his gardening guide can be translated into a grieving guide.  According To Robert Dash, “We should expect mistakes; mistakes are not errors if we learn from them.” There is a food for thought.   If you planted mammoth dill in the front of your flowerbed (If you like to edible garden your flowerbeds), then the dill grew huge and dwarfed out all the other plants.  Maybe next gardening season, you’ll find another spot for it.   Same can be said about supporting others through grief, you learn from your mistakes.  The best lesson you can learn is to be a good listener.  Resist the temptation to interrupt or say awkwardly comforting statements.  Learning to listen takes practice and you sure can learn from your mistakes.
